Welcome November + Personal Branding

Welcome NOVEMBER. It's just 2 months until the new year!

To start this month, I wanna share about personal branding presentation that I attend 3 weeks ago at my university event.

So what is personal branding? In Indonesia we can say it "Citra Diri", how we let public see us as what we want to. Some maybe think, oh yeah I can potray my good gold side to the public and hide my bad blood side for myself.

Actually, for some people, it does happened and can be happened and can be planned, but how long will it be lasted, eh?

So from my university event seminar, I got some point about personal branding (of someone) through social online activities, which I found a bit odd at first. The speaker do says about how we tweet on twitter, how we put status quote on our facebook, could bring a lot of effect later on. It could happened if in the meantime, someone (for example your boss), meaninglessly search your name on Google, and he/she found out about some tweets record about how you hate your boss, how you want to kick your boss ass from company, how bad you want to take over the company. Well, it was a tweet right? Twitter should be a place where you can tweet your mind and get responses from followers or some stranger. But what about your boss didn't care about what is twitter about and get you fired in the next day?

And also, through other social network itself, we could create our personal branding to our friends, new friends, stranger and even to the world. Maybe it will be easier to create your personal branding to the international audience rather than retain your personal branding to the people around us, especially if your personal branding didn't match with the real you. Some people who may hates you, could call you a hypocrites.

So what I'm saying is, to start your fresh start nice and good personal branding, start to reflect to yourself how do you want yourself to be seen to the public and how do you want yourself can achieve the best match personal branding in no time and can retain it for a very long time even forever. 

For me, being nice and care to people that I know is what I want all the people know me about. But I cannot forget on how narcissistic I am, how silent I am when I met new people, how shy I am to start conversation or a topic. That's what blog is invented, right?

I hope you can learn something about personal branding from my side of view.
