I found out about this during my previous flight from China and got a copy from my auntie.

Garuda Indonesia
Presents:
Addie MS & City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra
The Sounds of Indonesia

This album give me time to reminiscing my elementary school education, PKn (Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan), where I have to memorize the origin of these song and what the lyrics are. Phew! That time is a long time ago and I'm kinda regretting it now because I didn't learn it well.

This album is about rearrangement of our (national) cultural music with some orchestra vibe and gave me some new point of view while listen to it. Cultural song gradually became forgotten with new modern song. Instead of being really forgotten, we as young Indonesian need to know (didn't have to learn like elementary student) what is our cultural song. As we all know, our culture identity is slowly being taken by our own 'siblings or neighboring' countries because we slowly burying it (or in the harsh word: we dump it). Thanks to Mr Addie MS, our Indonesia composer, who preserve our cultural song in the new way, and also makes it interesting to listen (young people likes to hear something new and different).

Orchestra music + Culture song = Great fusion!
Not boring at all. Easy listening.

I easily recognize track 12 because this song is my birth identity. Guess it :p
:D
